Listed below are the range of materials available:
- Cast Iron: Cast Iron is appreciated for being very brittle, making it easier to sort into desirable quantities as scrap. It also has high fluidity and castability, and is highly resistant to wear-and-tear. This makes it an attractive material for engineers.
- Shredded Steel Scrap: Shredded scrap is defined as similar iron and steel scrap magnetically separated, consisting of material originating from automobiles, unprepared No. 1 and No. 2 steel, sheet scrap and miscellaneous baling, with an average density of 70 pounds per cubic foot.
